About Yvonne Bregman
Yvonne Bregman, LCSW has a private psychotherapy practice in Ridgefield, Connecticut where she specializes in working with parents and children, those recovering from trauma, and individuals experiencing life transitions such as divorce, bereavement and relocation.
Yvonne’s experience in the mental health field includes, but is not limited to serving as Program Coordinator for the William B. Hoyt Memorial Grant and as the co-originator of the Family Empowerment Project. Through these programs Yvonne has helped over 100 families including parents and children in Putnam County, New York. Yvonne received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University.
Yvonne is licensed in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. She has a MA and MSW from Columbia University and post-graduate training at the Justice Resource Institute Trauma Center In Brookline, MA, for a Certification in Trauma Treatment.
She continued training with Dr. Daniel P. Brown, Associate Clinical Professor of Psychology at Harvard University in the use and practice of hypnosis. Ms. Bregman attended weekly lectures in Boston for two years to learn her skills in clinical hypnosis. She is a certified member of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH), a research and training society of physicians, nurses, psychologists, dentists and social workers who utilize hypnosis in the care of their patients.
Additionally, Yvonne completed the Level I Training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy® with Dr. Patricia Ogden, originator of the modality. She is a certified member of the National Association of Social Workers. She was a Field Instructor for the Social Work Department, Fordham University. Yvonne is on the Advisory Board of Putnam Community Action Program. And she is also certified in Trauma Informed Yoga and has trained with Dr. Sue Johnson, author of Hold Me Tight - Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love, in EFT - Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy. She also participates in an on-going Sensorimotor Training Group in NYC as well as an on-going Dissociative Disorders Group in New Haven, CT.
